On March 5, 2020, with the support of the USAID New Justice Program, a regular meeting of donors, representatives of international technical assistance projects in the field of strengthening rule of law and the judiciary took place.
The Chairman of the High Anticorruption Court Olena Tanasevych, the main speaker of the meeting, told the audience about the interim results of the six months of work of the High Anticorruption Court and about further plans for its development.
In particular, it was informed that during the period from September 5 to December 31, 2019, the said court received 205 criminal proceedings, 50 of which were submitted to the court and 2 sentences were passed. Investigative judges received 3 628 motions, complaints and statements for the specified period.
Thus, out of 205 criminal proceedings, the vast majority are charged for accepting of an offer, promise or misappropriation of an official; appropriation, waste or seize of property through the abuse of official position; abuse of powers or position; legalization (laundering) of illegally earned incomes.
The presentation was traditionally accompanied by question and answer session. The participants also exchanged news in the field of justice and spoke about planned activities for the next month aimed at strengthening the rule of law.
Denys Kuznetsov, Chief Specialist of the International Cooperation Division of the Secretariat of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, represented the Commission at the meeting.

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) New Justice Program has been operating in Ukraine since October 2016.
The purpose of the program is to provide support to the judiciary, the Government, the Parliament, civil society and the people of Ukraine in implementing judicial reform, taking into account the constitutional changes of 2016 and the Strategy for the reform of the judicial system, justice and related legal institutes for 2015–2020.
The New Justice program builds on the achievements of previous USAID Programs in Ukraine: Rule of Law and Fair Justice projects and uses their achievements to coordinate close cooperation with Ukrainian partners, USAID projects, the US Government and other projects of international donor organizations in Ukraine.
